Privacy should be visible, deliberate, and proportionate.

What this policy covers

The public website at valaisos.com is operated by ValaisOS LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("ValaisOS," "we," "us"). This policy applies to the public website, its early-access form, and communications initiated through that form. It does not yet cover a ValaisOS product account or private preview environment; those services will receive additional terms before they open.

Information we receive

The public site does not ask you to create an account. If you request early access, we receive your name and work email plus any firm, role, operating-environment category, note, or “How did you hear about us?” answer you choose to provide. If the link you used contains a first-party campaign source or campaign name, those short labels are included with the request; we do not retain the full referring URL. We use that information to respond, understand which outreach is useful, route the request, and consider participation in private previews. Product-update messages are sent only when you select the separate optional checkbox and confirm the subscription. We record the consent-statement version, source, and time so the choice remains auditable.

We do not sell personal information, use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or promise admission to a preview or beta.

Cookies and local storage

The site uses no advertising cookies and loads no third-party analytics. It uses browser local storage for two necessary preferences:

• Theme preference remembers whether you selected the light or dark presentation.
• Privacy preference remembers whether you accepted or declined optional analytics.

If you accept optional analytics, the site sends a small set of first-party events, such as a page view, article reading milestone, related-article or preview-action click, form start, optional-context opening, successful request, or theme change, to our same-origin Azure API. Article counts may include the public article slug, and aggregate counts may be grouped by a short first-party campaign-source label from the page link or, when the link carries none, by a fixed label naming the category of referring site (for example, an AI assistant or a search engine) taken from a short allowlist; the referring page address itself is never sent or stored. We retain aggregate counts only; the application does not store an analytics identifier, IP address, browser fingerprint, full referring URL, campaign name, or event-level visitor history. Declining prevents these measurement requests. If the purpose or technology changes, we will update this policy, change the consent version, and ask again.

You can revisit your choice at any time using Cookie settings. You can also clear the site’s local storage through your browser.

Hosting and operational records

The site, form API, intake records, aggregate counters, internal submission notifications, and transactional request-confirmation emails are operated with Microsoft Azure services. Confirmation emails acknowledge the request and can be replied to at hello@valaisos.com; they do not enroll you in product updates. Like most hosting services, Azure may process limited operational information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, request time, requested path, browser information, and security events. The form application does not add those details to the intake record.

Retention and your choices

Early-access requests are generally deleted within 24 months of the last relevant interaction unless a shorter period is requested or a longer period is required for a legitimate legal or operational reason. Pseudonymous abuse-prevention keys are kept only as needed to enforce short submission limits, and aggregate measurement counts are kept for up to 13 months. Marketing suppression records may be retained as needed to honor a request not to receive further promotional messages. When we correct or delete a request, we may retain a privacy-minimized operational record for up to 24 months containing hashed request and operator identifiers, the action, affected field names, and the stated reason, but not the submitted contact details or note. You may ask us to correct or delete information you sent, or to stop product-update communications at any time.

Your requests

To ask us to access, correct, or delete an early-access record, email hello@valaisos.com with "Privacy request" in the subject. We respond within a reasonable time and may ask you to confirm the email address the record was submitted from.

When you submit the early-access form, we record the version of the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy in effect at that moment, together with the submission time, so that we can show which terms you accepted.

Location of processing, security, and children

Information is processed and stored in the United States.

The controls applied to the public website and the early-access process are described in the Trust Center.

The site is intended for professionals and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

Business transfers

If ValaisOS LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a successor policy that is at least as protective.
